Compliance with AC291 (released 10-4-2023) means your Company is a Type A or C inspection body that does not impose any contractual conditions for its service while performing Class 1 inspections.
Compliance also means your Company maintains work instructions for specific fields and types of special inspections. Special inspection operations will be performed according to documentation developed by Responsible Authorities. Special inspection instructions will be based upon the content required by the latest revision industry standard(s). The work instruction, drawings and other documents will define the inspection steps necessary for the contract.
